Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are short-chain macromolecules containing D-fructose and D-glucose compounds.  Though this substance is derived from sugar cane and is technically a sugar, it is not utilized by the body as such, rather a soluble fiber.  FOS has very low caloric value. FOS is considered a prebiotic therefore it helps support the reproduction of friendly bacteria (robotics), particularly in the large intestine. Some individual may experience persistent dysbiosis due to an accumulation of unfriendly bacteria with this product.  If digestive discomfort persists for longer than 2 weeks, discontinue the product.    Take ½ teaspoon mixed in water two to four times per day, between meals, or as directed by a healthcare provider.
