Product Description
D-Mannose is a simple sugar that can be derived from cranberries, pineapples, peaches, apples, and some other plants. D-Mannose is absorbed much more slowly than glucose and does not convert to glycogen or get stored in the liver. Only very small amounts of d-Mannose are metabolized so it does not interfere with blood sugar regulation and is deemed safe for diabetics as well. Most of the d-Mannose is filtered through the kidneys, sent to the bladder and then excreted in the urine. D-Mannose is found in cranberry juice and is thought to be part of the plant that may help women prone to UTIs (urinary tract infections). D-mannose may also be helpful in encouraging the growth of healthy intestinal bacteria. It is available in powder form which is easy to use, with a pleasant taste.
